At The Refinery Church in Amarillo, Texas, our faith is deeply personal and rooted in these core beliefs:
We believe in Yahweh, the Creator of all, and in Jesus Christ, Yeshua, the Savior of humanity. Jesus lived a sinless life, died by crucifixion for our sins, and rose from the dead, conquering death and hell. He now intercedes for us and will return.
We believe the Holy Spirit is God's gift to every believer, guiding us to live holy and fruitful lives. Salvation and forgiveness of sins come through faith in Jesus as Savior and confessing Him as Lord.
We believe in the universal church, which unites all who receive Jesus as Lord, regardless of background. Water baptism is our public declaration of faith, and communion is a sacred right for believers to commune with our Lord.
We are committed to the Great Commission: making disciples of all nations, baptizing them, and teaching them to follow God's commandments. Our primary purpose is to worship God.
We believe the Bible is God's accurate, authoritative, and applicable Word, guiding our daily lives.
At The Refinery Church, we cherish these beliefs and strive to live them out, anchored in God’s love and truth.
Welcome! I'm the Senior Pastor at The Refinery Church in Amarillo, Texas, where I have the privilege of leading a vibrant and welcoming community dedicated to faith, growth, and service. Every day, I am inspired by the incredible people I meet and the meaningful work we accomplish together.
My journey in theology began at Andersonville Theological Seminary, where I deepened my understanding and passion for ministry. The knowledge and insights I gained there have been instrumental in shaping my approach to leadership and pastoral care. Before that, I built a strong educational foundation at Tascosa High School and Amarillo College, institutions that have played a significant role in my personal and professional development.
Amarillo has always been home to me. It's a city that has shaped who I am, instilled in me a strong sense of community, and provided countless opportunities for growth and connection. I am deeply committed to giving back to this community that has given me so much. Whether through church activities, community outreach, or personal interactions, my goal is to make a positive impact every day.
I am blessed to share my life with my wonderful wife, Shella Butler, who has been a constant source of support and inspiration. Together, we strive to make a difference in the lives of those around us and to foster a loving and inclusive environment at The Refinery Church.
